**The opportunity**
**Youth justice custodial facilities are hives of activity. There is a near-constant stream of staff, young people, contractors, educators, program providers, and personal visitors passing through the precinct every day.

As escorts supervisor at Cherry Creek, you will oversee the allocation of the day-to-day workload of a team of social justice staff. You will take the lead in problem solving and ensuring that young people are encouraged and supported in achieving their daily activities as part of the structured day program.

If done well, your work will help create a safe, secure and peaceful environment that will allow the young people in our care to get the most out of their education and rehabilitative programs.

You will also:

- Plan and prioritise workload to ensure the effective delivery of high quality, responsive and timely outcomes.
- Support and mentor team members to maximise their potential, while aligning with departmental values.
- Lead medical escort team meetings and facilitate training.
- Maintain fluid communication with staff to ensure alignment with young people's case plans and service delivery to stakeholders.

**To be successful in the role, you should have experience in the professional supervision and development of a team of staff. You will also be a strong strategic planner, a clear communicator and recognise the importance of the formal structure and hierarchy of an organisation like ours.**
