THE ROLE

The Property Department in the Office of Finance and Resources is seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Electrical Engineering Manager to manage the technical design and delivery of electrical engineering services and infrastructure for the University and its entities, ensuring alignment with the University’s strategic objectives.

Key accountabilities:
- Collaborate with Property senior leadership team and University stakeholders to provide expert advice, planning and recommendations on existing and future electrical engineering infrastructure, services and plant aligned with the University’s strategic objectives;- Critically evaluate and manage building services designs submitted by consultants for building programs of work for approval; identify and mitigate potential risks, provide recommendation, ensure integration into the campus electrical infrastructure, and ensure compliance with relevant statutory authority and legislative requirements;- Manage the University’s electrical network (High & Low Voltage), providing expert recommendations to Property and key stakeholders on existing electrical assets and future electrical network needs;- Provide expert electrical engineering advice and instructions to the Property Project Management, Facilities Management, Client Services and Strategy and Planning teams for the supply connection of new and refurbished buildings;- Identify, recommend, and manage implementation of new electrical infrastructure projects, compliance upgrades and requirements to support and enable implementation of University initiatives;- Assess and manage electrical capacity and maximum electrical demands within substations, Precinct MSB and Building to enable continuous management of peak demand electrical loads and costs across the campus;- Assess and manage the HV / LV infrastructure including substations, LV switch rooms and HV cable reticulation across the campus, consult with Ausgrid in relation to the HV network where required;- Identify, critically evaluate, address, or escalate risk relating to the University’s electrical network;- Build and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders including Electrical Supply Authority;- Manage information and records pertaining to Electrical Assets, Compliance, Authority Approvals, Easements and Schematic Network Drawings for HV and LV;- Analyse, evaluate and report on the performance and energy efficiency and lifecycle costs associated with electrical plant and services infrastructure across campus, including identifying and implementing initiatives to reduce energy consumption and emissions in plant and services infrastructure;- Work in collaboration with the Engineering Manager to develop and manage implementation of the University’s engineering policies, standards, procedures and guidelines for major plant infrastructure and services;- Comply with relevant EEO and WHS regulations;- Perform any other duties as required and appropriate for this classification.

ABOUT US

The Property Division supports the University in achieving its learning, teaching, and research goals through providing planning, development and maintenance services for all University buildings and infrastructure as well as providing a growing commercial property investment portfolio through development and/or acquisition and managing the same.

The Property department consists of:
- Strategy and Planning work in conjunction with key stakeholders to identify what infrastructure and development will contribute to building a stronger future for the University and support achievement of the strategic objectives.- Project Management who manages all building and infrastructure projects on Camp
