- We are seeking an individual who is highly motivated to become part of a passionate, vibrant and engaged team who will be responsible for:
- Performing all routine histological procedures from point of specimen reception to execution of results for Pathological diagnosis, including specimen dissection
- Participate in attending FNA Procedures
- Recording of results in line with protocols
- Maintaining current scientific knowledge
- Participation in both routine and audit related Quality Assurance activities
- Contributing to continuous improvement and the development of new assays as required
- Participating in training staff
- Liaising with internal and/ or external stakeholders (referring practitioners) regarding test results or referrals as necessary
- Compliance and adherence with Policies and Procedures, Workplace Health and Safety Procedures and Quality Assurance Processes.

**About you**
- To be considered for this position, you will need to meet the essential requirements:
- Demonstrated knowledge, expertise and skills within the Biochemistry/Haematology or Blood bank
- Sound knowledge of QC, QAP and troubleshooting
- Demonstrated ability to identify, develop and implement quality and service improvement activities in accordance with NATA/ISO accreditation/certification
- Perform duties with a high degree of independence and with infrequent supervision
- An outstanding commitment to quality and excellence
- A willingness to adhere to departmental and organisational policies and procedures

- **Laboratory Manager**, this multi-faceted role will involve the accurate and efficient testing of specimens, quality assurance and instrumentation, as well as other ad-hoc duties as required. This is a hospital stat lab and experience in Transfusion, Haematology, Biochemistry and/or phlebotomy is highly desirable.**To be successful in this role you must have the following**:

- A Medical Science degree or Diploma obtained from a recognised Australian institution.
- Experience in Transfusion, Haematology, Biochemistry and/or phlebotomy is highly desirable.
- Be able to participate in a rotating 24 hour, 7 day roster including on call.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and other departments both verbally and written.
- Self-motivation and the ability to work within a team.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to demonstrate sound organisation skills.
- A professional attitude towards confidentiality.
- Ability to understand and ensure compliance with WH&S policies and guidelines.
