The Geological Survey of NSW is looking to recruit a new Principal Geoscientist - Mineral Systems to join the team.

As the Principal Geoscientist - Mineral Systems you will provide scientific leadership and strategic direction in the design and implementation of mineral system projects in addition to management of the Survey’s petrographic datasets and functions.

As an expert in your field, you will also mentor and foster our talented staff, ensuring effective knowledge transfer and the building of resilience and depth in the Survey scientific and technical capacities.

You will also collaborate and liaise with other government and university research organisations to maximise the benefits of scientific collaboration.

This ongoing position offer a generous 35-hour week and flexible working arrangements based in Maitland, although other DRNSW/MEG office locations may also be considered.

**Essential requirements**
- Relevant postgraduate qualification in earth science.
- Involvement in field investigations, requiring a current driver’s license, 4WD experience, and the ability to carry out field work in remote areas.
- Advanced computer skills, including interrogating data, database management, and GIS software.
