**Division Responsibilities**
The People, Communication and Parliamentary Division (PCPD) provides efficient and
effective parliamentary, human resources, change management, market research and
communication services that are responsive to the department’s priorities. In doing so,

PCPD seeks to ensure its customers have confidence in its capability to respond to their
needs and find it easy to access the information and services they need.

**Branch Responsibilities**
The branch manages best practise client services, whole of portfolio parliamentary related
material and processes. The branch has a strong commitment to identifying opportunities to
continuously improve and streamline our processes and using information to inform
decision making. This is done through:

- Providing parliamentary services and products of the highest quality
- Delivery of Cabinet support and advice to our clients, including the Minister’s offices,
- consistent with Cabinet processes and utilising CabNet+ Viewer- Provide governance to external departmental committees including support for the
- Committee Management System- Delivery of key Parliamentary Document Management System (PDMS)

enhancements, modules and projects with a strong focus on driving innovation,
information, data analytics, automation and robotics
- Development and delivery of education and training products and support for our

clients.
**Section Responsibilities**
The branch is made up of the following sections:
The **Ministerial Coordination Section **is responsible for the facilitation and delivery of high
quality, timely parliamentary services and Ministerial products to the department and
Ministers’ offices through a commitment to continuously improving processes, identifying
and developing innovative solutions to enhance our clients’ experience. Education and
training are also a strong focus of the section.

The **Cabinet, Systems and Ministerial Office Support Section** is responsible for relationships
with the Executive, Ministers’ offices and Departmental Liaison Officers as well as facilitating
whole of department coordination and briefing for Cabinet. It manages requirements for all
Health and Aged Care Portfolio Ministerial Offices, provides helpdesk support for PDMS to
the department and Ministerial Offices, and creates and distributes a range of reports to
stakeholders on data from PDMS. Business Improvement Projects to improve branch
performance and client experiences are also managed within the section.

The **Appointments, Parliamentary Coordination and Committees Section** is responsible for
facilitating a whole of Department coordination and briefing for senate estimates, question
time, parliamentary committees, management of Ministerial Appointments and Committees
including the secretariat for the Executive Committee. A key focus is on maintaining strong
relationships with business areas, Minister’s offices, DLO’s, and external stakeholders.***
