- Reporting directly to the Branch Manager, your key responsibilities will be:
- Organise rosters and manage day to day operations of the courier car fleet and personnel, including organising car servicing and maintenance, performance management and mentoring of personnel
- To familiarise yourself with our customers and the local geography to best arrange efficient courier routes
- Manage courier enquiries occasionally outside of your normal business hours. A mobile phone and Laptop will be provided
- Intermediate computer skills required to access and assess mobile courier car tracking and to produce documents and memos
- To train new staff and conduct yearly staff performance appraisals
- Committed to undertake internal WHS training and to oversee employee safety, incident/hazard reporting and completing Monthly WHS progress reports on time
- Occasionally perform courier duties requiring you to drive throughout the Newcastle & Hunter regions to pick up specimens from our clients and deliver them to our laboratories, in a safe, efficient and timely manner
- To communicate effectively with our Collections team, referring Doctors, Patients and other Stakeholders
- To attend to the care, storage and processing of pathology specimens
- Compliance and adherence to Laverty Pathology policies and procedures to ensure a safe and productive workplace
**About you**
- To be considered for this position, you will need to have a great blend of skills, including:
- A current Driver’s Licence, and have a good driving record (a copy of which will need to be provided at interview)
- Strong logístical background
- Good knowledge of, and confidence to drive in, Newcastle and Hunter region
- Sound technical skills, including the ability to operate GPS systems
- Be able to work in a flexible manner to cover some shifts as required, during temporary staffing shortages (annual leave, sick leave etc).
- Sound organisational and time management skills
- The ability to work under pressure and to meet goals as part of a team
