**About the role**:
The Accounts Payable Officer is a key contact within the Finance team for all Accounts Payable matters, ensuring effective management of all areas across supplier payables, credit cards and employee expense claims during the year.

The role will also assist with improvements of processes and policies relating to Accounts Payable, including automation activities.

Key stakeholders include Senior Leaders, Executive Admin Assistants, Finance, Procurement, IT and Internal Audit teams, vendors, support providers and the Australian National Audit Office (ANAO).

**Duties**:

- Complete fortnightly payment runs, ad-hoc overseas payments and ensure accounts payable transactions are processed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Monthly reconciliation of payables sub-ledgers.
- Provide analysis and support to vendors and staff in relation to payment processing and management of creditors.
- Process credit card transactions and create journals as per timeline. Investigating and resolving any irregularities or enquiries.

**Required experience/skills**:

- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure in a high-volume environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills. Strong initiative and ability to problem solve.

**Desirable experience/skills**
- Knowledge of Financial Management Information Systems (Oracle - AP).
- Automation of processes and systems
- Knowledge of relevant legislation applicable to AP matters Tertiary qualifications in finance/accounting.
