**ABOUT THE ROLE**

We are recruiting for a Head Photographer to lead our Sydney retail photography operations to excellence. As a Head Photographer you will provide critical leadership to ensure a consistently excellent experience for our customers day in, day out. You'll be a leader, not just a manager; we're looking for someone who will enjoy motivating and driving our fun and friendly team to succeed.

**High Level Accountabilities**:

- Oversee and coordinate all aspects of photography operations, ensuring the efficient execution of tasks
- Maintain and understand all technical aspects of photography equipment and stay updated on industry trends and advancements
- Monitor the quality and composition of photos being produced is to a high standard and ensure ongoing coaching provided when required
- Ensure all Magic Memories staff are sufficiently trained in photography basics including operation of equipment
- Provide team and direct reports with an understanding of quality and composition guidelines
- Conduct regular training sessions (minimum quarterly) for both in-house and partner staff on photography techniques, equipment usage, and quality assurance
- Prepare, Manage & Review Photography Composition & Quality training documentation for internal and external attractions in Sydney, NSW
- Act as Designated Photography expert, providing consultation & feedback to MM Digital Operations team for deployment to other sites & markets
- Set capture, quality and production targets for team in line with budget and site objectives
- Lead the day-to-day operations and ensure they operate effectively and efficiently: rostering, performance management, daily maintenance, stock control, etc
- Drive performance to meet and/or exceed your site's KPIs

**WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR**:

- Proven experience in photography (formal qualification or 3+ years experience in a similar role), with a strong understanding of technical equipment and techniques
- Previous experience in a management/supervisory role in a guest focused environment
- Experience working in a fast-paced, target oriented sales environment with a track record of achieving KPIs and store budgets
- Effective communication style, able to engage at all levels from frontline operations to the senior leadership
- Time management, prioritisation of tasks and sound decision-making skills
- Experience in the travel, retail, tourism and/or Hospitality industry(s) is preferred
- Tourism never sleeps, so we’ll need you to be able to work weekends and school holidays
