**What you will be doing**:

- An exciting opportunity has become available for a talented Dietitian to join the team at Nepean Hospital in a Permanent Part Time Position. This position is part of the Nepean Diabetes Service in the Nepean Department of Endocrinology and provides high-level clinical nutrition service to clients of Nepean Diabetes Service and supports other Dietitians providing nutrition services across NBMLHD.

This position is actively involved in and leads quality improvement and service development activities. This role also provides clinical supervision of staff and students. The Dietitian level 3 will be responsible for:

- Provision of high quality, evidenced-based nutritional care of inpatients and outpatients, using independent professional judgement
- Acts as a consultant to medical, nursing and other staff in a range of complex nutrition clinical areas
- Works collaboratively with other health professionals and agencies in the continuity of care for patients
- Monitors, reviews, and develops relevant clinical nutrition policies and protocols
- Uses advanced reasoning skills and independent judgement in solving problems and managing clinical cases
- Operates autonomously with mínimal direction
- Involved in planning, implementing, evaluating and reporting on Diabetes Service Dietetic activities
- Leadership in quality activities to improve service delivery
- Prepares and reviews patient education resources
- Assists in co-ordination of Dietetics student placements and supervision
- An eligibility list may be created for future vacancies.

**Selection Criteria to be Addressed**:

- Tertiary qualifications in Nutrition and Dietetics and eligible for full membership of the Dietitians Australia
- Up-to-date knowledge and skills in the nutritional management of Diabetes
- Extensive experience in the nutritional management of complex clients with diabetes
- Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and teaching skills. With well-developed skills in clinical supervision and student teaching and training.
- Demonstrated ability to work with mínimal supervision and as part of a multidisciplinary team that provides services to people with Diabetes.
- Computer literacy (experience with CBORD Diet Office Management System an advantage).
- Current Australian driver's licence or equivalent
