**Telecommunication Technician**:

- Date: 18 Jul 2023- Location: Brisbane, QLD, AU, 4000- Company: VentiaWe require a **Copper / Splicer technician** to join our **Fixed Networks Team**. The role is based in Brisbane; however, you will be required to work remotely and travel away from home for a period of time. This is a fixed term full time position with a possibility to extend.

**About the Role**

The role requires you to work across multiple programs including business customers and greenfield installations and perform technical scoping, fibre splicing and copper jointing activities and supervise the work of technical contractors. Your typical duties include:

- Undertaking jointing and splicing
- Supervising and guide technical contractors to meet project quality and deliverables
- Competent in ribbon and single fibre splicing and testing using OTDR and power meter instruments
- Undertake fault location and restoration using OTDR testing equipment
- Internal building conduit and cable installations and customer active equipment network integration
- Participate in a small work group engaged in pipe proving, hauling, pit and pipe installation activities
- Identify hazards and take corrective actions, fostering a “Safety above all else” culture
- Ensure appropriate tools, safety equipment and materials are available and in good, clean working order to ensure timely completion of tasks
- Complete testing workbooks and other project completions documentation
- Knowledge and understanding of construction drawings

**About You**
- Fibre splicing and copper jointer accreditation
- OTDR and Power Meter experience
- Confidence in splicing and handling large optic fibre cables daily
- Coordinating day to day work activities, organising materials, access to buildings etc.
- Understanding Telstra and NBN technical manuals
- Familiar with rack and sub rack installations inside Telstra exchanges
- Current Australian drivers’ licence
- NBN EnAble card
- Construction white card
- Desirable - First Aid, CPR, Cable Hauling experience, Lv 2 traffic awareness and Telstra technician skills
