- Market- Australia Western Australia Perth- Contract- Oil & Gas- Chevron Australia has an exciting opportunity for a Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Specialist, Gorgon to join the Barrow Island HSE Team. Reporting to the BWI HSE Manager, this role will be based on Barrow Island on 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off roster.
- The HSE Specialist provides health, safety and environment advice and guidance to the Gorgon Plant Managers, Gorgon Leadership team and Process area streams. Support business partners in their operational excellence management systems and practices, including safeguard assurance.**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Provide specialist HSE advice and guidance to field based operational teams to support the safe execution of work scopes.
- Provide advice and field support for Control of Work systems and safeguards required to support high risk work scopes.
- Provide in-field occupational hygiene support, including exposure monitoring, conduct training for field teams and provide guidance on appropriate safeguards.
- Provide guidance to field teams on dangerous goods requirements, including storage and licensing.
- Represent Gorgon in risk management processes, including HAZIDs and HAZOP studies, and support the implementation of risk mitigations across the asset.
- Participate in and lead incident investigations, including facilitating Chevron approved Incident investigation methodologies (e.g., 5-Why, SAFE, Y-tree and Learning Teams).
- Support on-plot environment stewardship practices with a focus on waste management and other requirements identified by the BWI Environment team.
- Actively participate in and support the Barrow Island one-island HSE team, supporting shared goals to build and sustain a one-island strong culture.
- Support and influence the Gorgon Site Leadership team with decision making and maintaining a strong OE culture.
- Build strong working relationships with key stakeholders, including Production and Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Business partners.

- Demonstrated ability to take a ‘one team’ approach working in a small team and collaborating effectively with others.
- Ability to work independently and build strong working relationships with a variety of stakeholders including leaders, field and frontline personnel and business partners.
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing business needs and priorities.
- Practical problem-solving skills with strong planning and project management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills that can be tailored to the audience (e.g., developing and delivering presentations, leading discussions, facilitating meetings with a drive to reach consensus)
- An understanding of HOP and how this applied to the workplace would be beneficial.
- Assurance, training and/or awareness experience would be beneficial.
