**About us**

The State Member for the Electorate of North Shore, Ms Felicity Wilson, MP, is seeking a staff member to join her Electorate Office team. The North Shore Electorate Office is located in the heart of Neutral Bay, where constituents and local community groups can engage with the Member for North Shore regarding state government services.

**About the position**

As an Electorate Officer, you will join our small team to work alongside Ms Wilson to serve the community. This role may require some after-hours and weekend work, for which an all incidence of employment allowance is paid.

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate exceptional communication and writing skills, the ability to prioritise competing tasks, and excellent interpersonal skills, which are a must. You need to be self-motivated with the ability to work independently as well as in a team. You must adhere to the Code of Conduct as set out for Members’ Staff, as well as practice confidentiality in all aspects of the role.

**Selection criteria**:
1. Excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to respectfully interact with constituents and liaise with community groups and government and non-government organisations.

2. Demonstrated capacity to exercise sound judgement, ability to deal with sensitive and confidential issues, while performing at a high standard under limited supervision and within a team environment.

3. An interest in, and understanding of, the NSW political context and Australian parliamentary procedures and processes.

4. Excellent writing skills including the ability to prepare correspondence, briefing notes, submissions, speeches, newsletters, social content, and media releases.

5. Demonstrated research and analytical skills including the ability to analyse policy and legislation.

6. Demonstrated superior organisational skills to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities and deadlines.

7. End-to-end management of events, forums, and community engagement activities.

8. Good word processing/keyboard/database and computer skills in an office environment.
