**About the role**:
Record Label Manager - Music will be responsible for developing a nurturing, safe environment for young artists to release music, and assist in supporting students to develop skills in the release, and promotion of music. The label itself is an initiative that creates a true bridge between Industry and Education by developing a collaborative cross-disciplinary environment for true industry training and partnership.

The role of the Record Label Manager is to manage operational and release requirements of the Box hill Institute Record Label in order for the Label to grow. The key outcomes include:

- **Set up and structure**: Responsible, in consultation with BHI departments, for setting up and maintaining the business strategy, structure, quality processes and marketing strategy of the record label
- **A&R**: Responsible for finding talent to sign and managing the quality of the product from signing through to release
- **Album releases**: To manage all parts of the album release process with a focus on using BHI facilities, staff and students when appropriate as possible
- **Artist in residence**: To develop and grow the artist in residence program at Box Hill Institute
- **Education bridge (student/artist support)**: To ensure the label accesses the BHI student network in its day to day running and releases where possible
- **Event Support**: Manage and Assist in the running of events related to the label, and in support of student/artist development
- **Industry engagements**: Develop strong industry links in order to strengthen the labels identity and give opportunity for partnership and collaboration.

The Record Label Manager is a member of the Centre of Excellence: Music team in the College of Higher Education, and the Faculty of ICT, Business, Sport & Creative Industries. This position is responsible for working professionally with employees at all levels across the BHI Group and liaising with relevant external stakeholders. The work undertaken by the Manager may be performed on-line, at any campus of the BHI Group and at any workplace serviced by the Group.

- Bachelor’s degree in Music Business or equivalent industry experience

Expertise Requirements
- **Label Management**: Extensive experience at management level in a commercially successful record label. This includes working with traditional and emerging media formats and technologies used in music releases, signing Artist’s and negotiating recording contracts and rights management
- **Industry Knowledge and Connections**: Ability to draw on a wide range of Music Industry connections and to connect and partner with Industry and Government Peak Music bodies. Participate on Music Industry related panels and boards
- **Leadership**:Builds team commitment by demonstrating personal conviction and delegating responsibilities appropriately. Brings together the best possible group to achieve objectives. Identifies potential issues and setbacks and guides team to optimise outcomes. Motivates others to deliver against goals.
