Finance Officer, Accounts Payable

Overview:
- Full-time, Fixed Term position until November 2023- Salary Level HEW 5 + 17% Superannuation- Based at the Melbourne CBD campus, and hybrid ways of working
About the role
Finance Officer Accounts Payable will perform general accounts payable functions under the direction of the Accounts Payable & Purchasing Team Leader and is responsible for a range of purchase to pay services including but not limited to:
- Prepare and process approved tax invoices for inclusion in payment runs- Assist with month end process and supplier account reconciliations- Prepare, process and provide supporting documentation for journal entries/payments- Provision of support to the wider University team to ensure the team are trained to provide accurate and timely information required by the team- Review and assist with clearing of the obligations and commitments
You will provide range of administrative financial services within the scope of this role. You will meet
expectations because you have a thorough knowledge of accounting and financial services transactions and systems, principles, regulatory compliance requirements as well as your responsive customer service practices.
To be successful in this position, you’ll have:
- Working knowledge and understanding of accounting theory, principles, policies and procedures or demonstrated accounts payable experience utilising financial management technological solutions, preferably Workday or other ERP systems in a large organisation.-
- Well-developed interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills with proven ability to present information in a clear and concise manner both in writing and verbally.- Organizational skills to coordinate many tasks simultaneously with changing priorities and to work independently with mínimal supervision and as part of a team-
- Proven ability to provide responsive, quality and timely customer service with an ability to adapt to a growing and changing environment.
