**Your role**

As a Project Officer - Capital Planning and Investments, you will be working closely with Department of Communities and Justice’s (DCJ) Planning & Leasing team, we support the initiation and development of new workplace infrastructure projects across DCJ.

Using our workplace guidelines our team will advise and develop designs for new and existing workplaces to support DCJ’s Infrastructure Strategies.

**What you’ll do**

As part of the Infrastructure Design team within the Capital Planning and Investments division, anticipate each day being dynamic and engaging, offering the opportunity to effectively manage your time and tasks.

Supported by your team and manager, you'll play a key role in developing and executing workplace projects from initial site assessment to tender documentation, ensuring adherence to project deadlines.

While your primary focus will lie in project initiation and feasibility assessments, your daily responsibilities will encompass a range of activities. These include conducting site visits to evaluate both new and existing workplaces for lease extensions or terminations, gathering business requirements, designing new workplaces (block planning and concept deign) and testing our guidelines. Additionally, if required you’ll be responsible for drafting documentation, procuring resources, and collaborating with architects and delivery partners to ensure the successful design and implementation of projects.

**What we’re looking for**

Interior designer or architect (certificate or higher qualification in a CAD discipline is favoured) with proven experience in commercial workplace/fit out design.

Has proven experience working on workplace design projects from concept to tender documentation using Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) Software.

You will thrive in collaborative environments, can communicate effectively, where your skills can demonstrably lead to the initiation and delivery of workplace design projects.
