We are currently working in partnership with a State Government department. They are looking to recruit an experienced AO6 Policy Officer on a 6-month contract with the opportunity to extend.

**Responsibilities will include**:

- Demonstrating excellent written communication skills and experience in writing briefs, reports, and correspondence for internal and external audiences, consistently presenting advice in a clear, concise, and articulate manner.
- Undertaking research and collating detailed information on a range of topics. - Providing secretariat support to the Board, committees, and key external stakeholders.
- Managing the interface between the department and relevant entities in relation to governance matters.
- Supporting the coordination and development of key deliverables, including planning, reporting, and corporate documents (e.g., strategic plans), strategic governance arrangements, and evaluations.
- Quality assuring a range of high-level written communications material including briefing materials, correspondence, budget papers, and other significant communications with stakeholders.
- Exercising judgment to effectively manage competing priorities while working collaboratively with colleagues or individually, to deliver products on time and to the expectations of clients.
- Achieving a strong client service focus by establishing and maintaining collaborative partnerships and networks with team members, business units, other government agencies, and relevant stakeholders.
- Undertaking special projects and other duties as directed.

**About you**:

- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- Excellent written communication skills with proven experience in writing briefs, reports, and correspondence for diverse audiences.
- Strong research abilities and the capacity to collect and analyze information on a wide range of topics.
- Proficient in providing secretariat support and coordinating with boards, committees, and external stakeholders.
- Familiarity with governance matters and experience in liaising with government departments is highly desirable.
- Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Demonstrated initiative and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- A client-focused approach and the ability to establish and maintain professional relationships.
- Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for document creation, editing, and analysis.
