About the team
Operations & Passenger Delivery team is committed to keeping Melbourne moving by delivering exceptional passenger experiences through, on time, reliable, safe and efficient services.
We achieve this through face-to-face interactions by our frontline teams, supported by our safety operations, operational readiness, and network performance teams.

About the role
The role of Performance Technical Specialist - HCMT will interface between internal and external stakeholders relating to HCMTs performance and supports Technical, Network Operations and other departments as necessary by identifying and addressing issues which may impact network performance.

You will utilise strong technical understanding of rolling stock to identify trends in data, work quality defects and incident root cause. This analysis leads to correct incident attribution and fleet performance reporting on a daily, monthly and annual basis enabling Metro to achieve our commitments.

About You
You will be an effective communicator with a highly motivated and proactive approach, alongside the ability to be able to present at visualisations and performance meetings. To be successful in this role, you will have skills and experience in the following areas:
Experience/knowledge in Rolling Stock and/or rail operations will be highly regarded
Previous HCMT technical experience/knowledge will be highly regarded
Demonstrable analytical and evaluative skills.
Strong computer skills including MS Excel, MS Word, Power Bi (desirable)
Knowledge of Safe working practices and the operational requirements of the metropolitan rail system
Report preparation and presentation skills for multiple stake holders
Ability to collect, analyse and present workplace data and information
Ability to identify and analyse risks, and make corrective actions
Ability to negotiate, persuade and influence opinions
Ability to schedule work priorities to ensure deadlines are strictly adhered to
