**What will you be responsible for?**
- Take ownership of the onboarding process for all new employees in head office
- Take ownership for all HR administration, for example creating contracts, letters and job descriptions, updating organisation charts, maintaining files and systems
- Support the HR team with implementing and coordinating performance, development and succession activities across all business areas
- Assist the HR team with coordinating processes such as annual pay review, bonus and benefits reviews
- Support the HR team with implementing and coordinating employee engagement surveys across all business areas, and delivering actions
- Assist in updating policies and procedures as required
- Support health & safety activities, ensuring a focus on employee wellbeing, and including supporting the Work Injury Officer with administration of claims
- Keeping up to date with HR Legislation and best practice
- Assist in the implementation of a HR System, including payroll and time and attendance.
- Support preparation of training material and procedures documents
- Prepare promotional material, flyers, brochures as required
- Participate in HR and payroll related projects as required

**What do you need to be successful?**
- Experience in a similar HR role within a retail or similar commercial organisation (understanding of Retail Award or similar would be highly regarded)
- Experience and knowledge in time and attendance systems
- Knowledge and experience in payroll would be an asset
- Basic knowledge of employment law, best practices, and HR procedures
- Understanding and experience of recruitment procedures
- Understanding and exposure to HR activities such as performance appraisals, succession planning, learning & development programs and engagement initiatives
- Creative and innovative with fresh ideas and always looking for improvement
- A genuine love of working with people and building relationships
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Good attention to detail and highly organised
- Ability to multi-task and prioritise a varied and often changing workload
- Hands on with a can-do attitude and willing to get involved in a wide range of tasks and projects
- Exceptional skills in Microsoft products
