Curtin University welcomes expressions of interest from academics and industry professionals seeking an opportunity to work on the Project Management Program within the School of Design and the Built Environment (DBE).

You will contribute to the teaching effort of the school by conducting lectures, tutorials, practical classes, demonstrations, workshops, computer laboratory procedures, and sessions.

You may be required to prepare and deliver lectures and seminars as well as mark assessments and undertake other activities, as required, in relation to the assessment of students’ work. In most circumstances, you will work as a member of a teaching team under the management of a unit coordinator.

Specifically, we are looking for experienced project managers with a passion for teaching to join the Post Graduate Project Management Program for the 2023 academic year, which starts at the end of February. We are looking for Project Managers from all industries, including IT, Engineering, Construction, Events Planning, Education, Government, and Health Care.

To be successful in this role, applicants will have a Master’s degree in a relevant field and/or 5+ years of relevant industry experience.

**Applicants must also have practical knowledge and experience in at least one of the following areas**:

- Procurement and related laws and practices
- Project Scoping
- Project Costing and Budgeting
- PMBOK, PRINCE2, Agile, ISO etc
- Risk Management
- Strategic Management
- Portfolio Management

**Additionally, we are looking for people with**:

- An interest in teaching and mentoring
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and time management skills
- The ability to work independently

Classes in the Project Management Program are delivered in the evenings from 5:30-8:30PM Monday-Thursday.

The Curtin Project Management Program provides teaching that prioritizes the student learning experience. The program is agnostic in its approach to project management, meaning that the course is suited to students from all industries. Our suite of courses provides practical learning experiences that contribute to our students being job ready upon graduation.

The School of Design and Built Environment is housed in a new state-of-the-art building that includes a diverse mix of technology-rich formal, informal and specialist learning and teaching spaces in addition to a makerspace, exhibition area, workspace for DBE staff, and industry and retail space.

Our vibrant campus also includes a gym, childcare, a medical centre, an art gallery, endless food options including a full-range grocer, beautiful gardens, end-of-trip facilities, good parking and excellent public transport connections.

Essential Criteria:

- Masters qualification(s) in a relevant discipline and/or 5+ years professional experience in a relevant field.
- Demonstrated knowledge of project management standards and practices such as PMBOK, PRINCE2, AGILE, Etc
- Professional experience leading and delivering successful projects.
- Demonstrated ability to provide a range of learning opportunities for students that are relevant to the learning outcomes.
- Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated organisational skills including the ability to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to learn and use software systems/technology to advance student success and retention.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain quality standards in teaching and assessment.

Desirable Criteria:

- Experience in teaching and learning.
- Professional credentials such as PMP, RegPM, PRINCE2, Scrum Master, etc.
- Experience implementing effective practices supporting student transition, success, and retention.
