An exciting opportunity exists for a Team Leader Collection Planning and Assessment to lead and join our dynamic team.
- From $99,739 to $108,138 (HEW 7) p.a. plus 17% super and annual leave loading
- Full-time, continuing
- Based at Wallumattagal campus, North Ryde.
THE ROLE
This is a key role in the Collection Strategies team which is part of the Resources and Discovery Unit of Macquarie University Library. Collection Strategies manages and develops the Library’s collections, in particular the electronic resources. In this role you will lead and develop the Collection Planning and Assessment team, including the development of associated services, policies, standards, documentation, and procedures in relation to collection strategies and assessment exercises. The Collection Planning and Assessment team focuses on long-term collection planning, assessment and evaluation, as well as ongoing operational activities managing acquisitions and continuation of collections.

About You
You will draw on your demonstrated knowledge of Library technical services functions, workflows procedures and practices particularly in collection development, licensing and procurement. You will have demonstrated knowledge of legal and regulatory issues associated with intellectual property, licensing and copyright particularly as it relates to the team focus aspect of resources acquisitions, access, scholarly publishing and research, and teaching and learning support. Extensive experience in integrated library management systems, technical services and collection assessment and development workflows is also required.
You will build and manage relationships including with external partners such as vendors, and system suppliers and deliver knowledge of partnership and stakeholder relationship and management processes.

To Apply
- Degree in an information management related discipline with experience with leading teams or services in an academic or research library environment, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience, and qualifications/training.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience of Library technical services functions, workflows, procedures, and practices particularly in collection development, licensing and procurement
- Knowledge of partnership and stakeholder relationship and management processes
- Demonstrated knowledge of legal and regulatory issues associated with intellectual property, licensing and copyright particularly as it relates to the team focus aspect of resources acquisitions, access, scholarly publishing and research and teaching and learning support
- Demonstrated skills and experience working across multiple systems and programs, with intermediate to advanced skills in productivity software such as Microsoft Office and SharePoint, including data extraction and analysis skills. demonstrated proficiency in the use of library management systems, and online information resources
- Extensive experience in integrated library management systems, technical services and collection assessment and development workflows
- Building and managing relationships including with external partners such as vendors, suppliers and system suppliers
- Leadership experience with demonstrated ability to lead innovative, high-performing teams
- Developing and implementing service delivery plans, programs and initiatives and proven ability to analyse and interpret highly complex information from numerous sources
