**The Opportunity**:

- The Parliament House Art Collection team are offering a non-ongoing opportunity for an experienced and highly motivated coordinator for exhibitions, collection access, loans and acquisitions. The Art Collection team are responsible for access, care and development of the Parliament House Art Collection. This is an exciting opportunity to work across the nationally significant Parliament House Art Collections including the Historic Memorial Collection portraits, Archives relating to the collection, Official Gifts and a growing contemporary art collection.
- The Program Coordinator plans and coordinates activities associated with a range of programs and projects such as the delivery of services to parliamentarians, acquisitions program, inward and outward loans, general circulation and permanent displays, and the production of physical and digital interpretive material. This role works within a multidisciplinary team and is responsible for managing procurement, documentation, and logistics relating to the preparation, handling, transport, and installation of collection items across the Parliament House site as well as inward and outward loans.

- Relevant tertiary qualifications, previous experience and proficiency in operating Vernon Collection Management System software or equivalent.

- Under limited/general direction undertake duties in accordance with the agreed standards for the Parliamentary Service Level 5 classification. The duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Plan, and coordinate activities associated with a range of programs and projects for the Art Collections section including the delivery of services to parliamentarians, acquisitions program, inward and outward loans, general circulation and permanent displays, and the production of physical and digital interpretive material.
- Develop, implement and review of Art Collections policy, procedure and documentation relating to service delivery activities. Document all work to a high standard according to DPS policy, including documentation of collection activities in the Collection Management System.
- Coordinate and supervise staff and external service providers to deliver Art Collections activities such as displays and loans, including the development and implementation of project tracking systems, and use of best practice collection handling techniques.
- Undertake and oversee procurement processes and liaison with a range of internal and external stakeholders such as parliamentarians, cultural institutions, artists and their representatives, curators, conservators, and display preparators to facilitate the delivery of services.
- Ensure appropriate Work Health & Safety standards and documentation including drafting and reviewing safe work method statements and risk assessments.
