**About you**

Our Youth Development Team is looking for two passionate and skilled people to become part of our fantastic team to deliver programs, activities and events for young people. We are looking for people who will;
- Be committed to achieving the best possible outcomes for young people
- Enjoy working in a team, can build strong relationships, and are open to the opinions of others.
- Have a proactive, welcoming and engaging manner when dealing with young people, their guardians and our community.
- Be able to “think outside the box” in the delivery of services to meet our community’s and young people’s evolving expectations.
- Be available Wednesday and / or Thursday late afternoon / early evenings on a regular basis.

**What can you bring to the team?**

You will work as part of a team to engage and support young people across a range of recreational, confidence building and leadership programs and events.

To be successful you will have:

- Progress towards or have obtained a qualification in youth work, social work or similar discipline
- Strong ability to relate to a diverse range of young people, particularly young people at risk.
- Experience working with young people.
- Skills and experience in gaming, skate, music or other specific youth sub-cultures (Desirable)
- Experience mentoring Aboriginal youth (Desirable)
- Experience in Social Media planning within an organisational context (Desirable)
- Administrative and program planning skills including ability to navigate various software systems as a requirement of Local Government
- Approved Working with Children Card / Current National Police Clearance.
- Current C (unrestricted) Licence.
- LR License with F extension (Desirable).

**The finer details**

Two positions are available; one position is a permanent part-time position and the other is for a short term contract until 15 December 2023 with the likelihood of casual work after this period. Both positions offer 10 hours per fortnight as a minimum, with the likelihood of being offered additional hours above base contract. The positions are Level 3 and attract a rate of $34.14 - $36.92 per hour dependant on qualifications and experience. We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workforce.
