**About this opportunity**:
Our client is seeking Spot Check Regulatory Officers for 12 month contracts initially with a possibility of extension (up to 3 years).

This position commences March 2023 but there may be opportunities at other times this year. If you are interested in the position but unavailable to start in March, you can still apply.

The role is based in Box Hill and requires extensive weekly or fortnightly travel across Melbourne, regional Victoria & interstate visiting sites to conduct audits. Applicable travel expenses are covered.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Working as part of a dedicated team of Regulatory Officials to conduct Infection Control and Monitoring (ICM) spot checks at residential aged care services.
- Support or conduct other forms of Quality and Safety Spot Checks.
- Undertaking visits to aged care services, either as part of a team or individually, to monitor the service's performance with the Aged Care Quality Standards
- Engaging with aged care service providers to collect information including conducting interviews with service staff and management
- Conducting in person interviews with consumers and/or their representatives about the quality of care and services provided by an aged care service
- Escalate on-site performance observations to an Assistant Director for follow up

**To be successful in this role you must have**:

- Flexibility to travel regularly across Melbourne, regional Victoria & interstate, with frequent overnight stays required on a weekly & fortnightly basis
- A current Victorian driver's license
- Evidence of seasonal influenza & three doses of COVID-19 vaccination
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to accurately and efficiently collect and record on-site observations
- Identify risks and communicate potential harms in an aged care service and escalate observations
- Work effectively as part of a team
