About the role:
The Regulatory Officer supports the assessment of permit applications and notifications for the Health Regulator branch. These may include complex Schedule 8 medicine, Schedule 9 substance permit applications, notifications and warrants.

The position will also liaise with Health Regulator compliance leads as needed on permit and licensing applications that require a physical visit to assess such as Non-Emergency Patient Transport (NEPT), private hospitals, and day procedure centres.

Suitable applicants will be able to demonstrate:

Support the assessment of permit and license applications and notifications for the Health Regulator branch in the following regulatory areas: medicines, poisons, Non-Emergency Patient Transport (NEPT), private hospitals, day procedure centres.

Drive continuous improvement in the review and development of team policies and processes.
Assist in the development of a risk based regulatory approach to legislation the Branch is responsible for.
Provide expert and authoritative advice, reasoned recommendations and innovative program options and solutions to complex and sensitive issues.
Ensure operational and practice initiatives meet the strategic directions for managing and delivering high-quality services.
Formulate compliance and evaluation strategies to address specific issues related to the effective provision and implementation of required outcomes.

Undertake high-level research and investigations into service delivery issues, risks and trends impacting on achieving key business objectives, policy initiatives and operational imperatives.

Monitor and analyse the implementation and delivery of practical and policy initiativesDemonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities with the ability to meet deadlines while working in pressured situationsKeep accurate and complete records of your work activities in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's records, information security and privacy policies and requirements.

Take reasonable care for your own health and safety and for that of others in the workplace by working in accordance with legislative requirements and the department's occupational health and safety (OHS) policies and procedures.

Demonstrate how the actions and outcomes of this role and work unit impact clients and the department's ability to deliver, or facilitate the delivery of, effective support and services.
