**About the role**

The Philanthropy Specialist (Gift in Wills) is a highly engaging, empathetic communicator, with a focus on developing long-term trusted relationships with bequestors. This role is responsible for acquiring and retaining supporters in line with the strategic goals of RSPCA Queensland’s Gift in Wills program. You will need to be a great collaborator who is able to work closely with the broader Fundraising team to develop and manage engagement initiatives with bequestors and Home Ever After program members.
- Connect people who are passionate about animal welfare with the opportunity to leave animals a better world through their legacy.
- Develop engagement activities with bequestors through informative supporter events, personal visits, phone calls, meetings, shelter tours, impact reporting and regular correspondence.
- Use multi-channel marketing, relationship fundraising and data analytics.
- Create and develop informed engagement, communication and stewardship plans.
- Ensure the comprehensive and accurate recording of all opportunities on the existing database (Salesforce).
- Provide monthly metrics reports and track progress against Objectives & Key Results.

**Who are we looking for?**
- 5+ year experience in a similar or related role _(desirable, not essential)._
- Tertiary qualification in Fundraising, Marketing or related discipline or equivalent professional experience _(desirable, not essential)._
- An engaging public speaker with great communication skills (both written and verbal).and be comfortable engaging over the phone.
- Highly developed organisation, event management and administration skills.
- Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Experience in CRM database/s.
- Initiative and the ability to work productively and proactively in an autonomous role.
- High levels of discretion and the ability to keep information confidential.
- Exhibit high levels of empathy and compassion.
- A proven track record of exceptional donor care and the ability to nurture trusted relationships with supporters.
- A driver’s licence and the flexibility to travel when necessary.

This is a full-time, permanent position, working 38 hours per week. Remuneration is commensurate with skills, qualifications and experience.
