The NSW Telestroke Service (NSW TSS) Clinical Nurse Consultant is a statewide position that provides expert clinical advice and consultancy services to the NSW TSS referring sites. This position initiates and leads quality improvement activities as part of the NSW TSS host site team.
This position is based at Prince of Wales Hospital and includes travel to the 23 referring sites across NSW as required. Playing a key role in the standardisation of practice across the sites, this position works closely with the NSW TSS Nurse Educator to ensure a consistent, well integrated clinical service is delivered.
This position works to promote the advancement of clinical practice and initiates collaborative ventures with colleagues to influence the future directions of nursing practice in both stroke and telestroke.
This position plays a key role in the evaluation of the NSW Telestroke Service including coordinating case reviews and clinical follow up to assess patient outcomes.

**Where you'll be working**
Prince of Wales Hospital is a 440 bed tertiary referral facility with specialties unique to this campus such as hyperbaric medicine, acute spinal cord injuries and interventional neuroradiology. Each year we support approximately 25,000 emergency presentations, 2,500 operations and thousands of outpatient treatments. We provide a 24 hour Emergency Department (ED) supported by an Intensive Care Unit and pioneering telehealth facilities in stroke and COVID-19, to connect the team in Randwick with specialists across NSW Health. A new Acute Service Building will be opening early 2023 with state of the art modern facilities aimed at providing an exceptional staff experience and enhanced patient and family outcomes as a result of the provision of person centred care.

The NSW Telestroke Service (TSS) Clinical Nurse Consultant is a statewide position that provides expert clinical advice and consultancy services to the TSS referring sites. This position will initiate and lead practice development across NSW by providing a range of services and working closely in partnership with the TSS host site team, Prince of Wales Hospital Stroke Department, referring site teams and the NSW Telestroke Working group.
This position is based at Prince of Wales Hospital and mobilised to travel to the TSS referring sites (up to 22 sites) across NSW as required. Playing a key role in the standardisation of practice across the sites, this position works closely with the TSS Nurse Educator to ensure a consistent, well integrated clinical service is delivered.
This position takes responsibility for the clinical supervision of the referring site stroke coordinators and supports the development of and implementation of care management plans for patients with complex health needs.
