JSA is an independent secondary statutory body situated in the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR). The acting Commissioner is accountable to the Minister for Skills and Training. Our enabling legislation is the Jobs and Skills Australia Act 2022.
**The Role**
Reporting to the Director of Communications and Media, the Assistant Director, Creative Services is responsible for delivering best practice creative services to support Jobs and Skills Australia including creative and brand strategy, graphic design, multi-media and digital content production and agency management.
The role will lead a small multi-disciplinary team that provides creative services to support the delivery of strategic communication and media plans across our diverse channel and audience mix, and in line with agreed priorities.
The Assistant Director, Creative Services works closely with the Assistant Directors for Media and Strategic Communications to ensure high quality, responsive servicing of the organisation and to deliver the objectives of the Communications and Media team.
This role is trusted to provide accurate, creative, and timely advice across the organisation, and acts as a leader within the Communications and Media team. This role has the visibility, and support, of the Commissioner and Executive team.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
Responsibilities of the role may include:
- Lead a small team to design and produce high-quality and visually engaging print, digital and social media materials for Jobs and Skills Australia that help deliver organisational objectives.
- Ensure that the integrity of the Jobs and Skills Australia brand and reputation is maintained consistently across communications materials, in alignment with the relevant brand policy and style guides.
- Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, including monitoring and communicating progress effectively, identifying and managing risks, and managing resources, agencies, and suppliers, to ensure targets and deadlines are met.
- Take complex information and translate it into engaging and clear assets using information design principles. Support the uplift of this capability across the organisation and act as an advocate for best practice information design.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and design practice including identifying and implementing current design trends and new ways of working.
- Keep up to date with latest trends and best practice digital design including brand, usability, and web standards.
- Leading by example to demonstrate Jobs and Skills Australia values - innovative, collaborative, respectful, accurate and courageous.
**Qualifications and Education**
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, Communications, Marketing, or a closely related field, or demonstrated relevant equivalent work experience.
