Australia Post, one of the most trusted brands in Australia, are recruiting a Payroll Governance Specialist to bring best practice payroll governance structures to our payroll team.

Our payroll team consists of several teams including payroll services, payroll administration, data & reporting, T&A control and operations and governance and compliance. This position works as governance and compliance and works closely with middle and upper level managers within payroll services, people & culture and other teams across the business.

If you are a payroll governance, risk or audit professional then this role is a real chance for you to implement a governance model and take the role in the direction that you want to take it. You will know, within the payroll space we have continuous change, driven by legislation and policy updates. As our governance expert you will be responsible for ensuring those changes are reflected in impacted processes and working with stakeholders to ensure the systems are aligned.

You will be responsible for implementing and monitoring governance and compliance payroll controls across a large payroll team. Conducting T&A and payroll checks to ensure that underlying systems, processes, and controls result in compliant outcomes.

**Your responsibilities will include**:

- Driving T&A and payroll governance to identify and resolve payroll risks and issues.
- Overseeing responses to issues that arise from internal audits and remediation reviews.
- Understand legislation changes in payroll and support management to make the changes that reflect updated or new legislation.
- Manage the relationship with employee relations to understand the payroll implications of EBA, award and legislation changes.
- Run the compliance program of work within payroll
- Run the payroll compliance risk register.
- Work through continuous improvement initiatives.

**Experience required**
- Experience leading payroll governance initiatives within a large organisation.
- Knowledge of payroll legislation and policies.
- Experience in implementing payroll governance controls.
