The Web Services and Design Team sits in the Communications Branch and is responsible for maintaining a range of DVA’s websites - Internet and intranet - as well as providing expert support and advice to its stakeholders.
The Assistant Director plays a key role in website design, front-end development, configuration, maintenance, and other specialist technical support as required.
The key duties of the position include:

- under limited supervision initiate and deliver web projects that support the strategic communication objectives of DVA and provide positive outcomes for veterans and their families
- as part of a multi-role team, design and build websites using the Drupal content management system, on the GovCMS platform
- provide ongoing maintenance and configuration of a range of DVA’s websites, including software updates and upgrades as required
- support DVA’s business areas with advice and assistance related to web-based projects
- assist the BAU publishing team with ad-hoc publishing requests
- provide high-level issues resolution to management and business areas regarding web communications
- assist the Director with operational activities such as team management, forward planning, procurement, and reporting
- Other duties as directed.
