Position Title: Health Information Support Officer
Classification: HS1A - HS16
Salary per hour (exc. super): $27.75 - $31.79
Hours per fortnight: 2 positions x 45 hrs per fortnight each
Employment Status: Ongoing Part Time

**Role Description**

This HIS role is primarily located within Bendigo Health's Emergency Department (ED) operating across three different desks. All HIS staff may be redirected to work within other areas of the Health Information Services team across Bendigo Health, to cover staff shortages, as required and will be trained in all areas of the department to enable flexibility and movement within the team.

HIS plays a critical role in supporting a dedicated team of professionals including medicine specialist doctors, critical care trained nurses, nurse practitioners specialising in emergency care and physiotherapists with expertise in urgent conditions. Supported by technical and other administration staff, the role incorporates a wide and varied selection of responsibilities, the main focus of which is registrations and admissions of patients presenting to the ED along with documentation/data management to ensure all relevant patient information is correctly stored in the patient's digital/electronic record.

All Bendigo Health employees are required to carry out lawful directions outlined in their position description or delegated to them, bound by the Victorian Government's Code of Conduct and in compliance with Bendigo Health's policies and procedures.

There are currently two permanent ongoing roles available to cover the HIS Admin PM shifts in ED working 3pm to 11pm:
**Role 1 - 45 hrs per fortnight**

Week 1: Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun

Week 2: Tues, Wed

**Role 2 - 45 hrs per fortnight**

Week 1: Mon, Tues, Wed

Week 2: Wed, Thurs, Fri

**HIS Shift Hours**

The Health Information Services teams operates 24/7 across three shifts, rostered on a fortnightly basis:
AM - shifts range from 6 to 8 hours between 7am and 4pm

PM - shifts range from 6 to 8 hours between 3pm to 11pm

Overnight - 8.5 hour shift between 10.30pm to 7.30am

Please note the team also operates 365 days per year with a requirement to work on weekends and public holidays as rostered.
