**Role**:
As the Senior School Engagement and Wellbeing Leader, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the success and wellbeing of students in Years 10, 11 & 12 at Newcomb Secondary College. You will work closely with the Principal team and other members of the Senior Team to implement the relevant Annual Implementation Plan strategies and enact the College's student management codes and philosophies.

Your responsibilities will include promoting a calm, positive tone to the school, supporting professional learning for yourself and your team members, and leading the Senior Team to prepare students for their pathway beyond NSC. You will also lead a Performance and Development Plan (PDP) team to develop appropriate classroom and responsibility goals and a supportive framework to assist the team in their strategies to achieve these goals.

In addition, you will work with the Senior Student Support Team and Wellbeing Team to support Senior School students to be safe and engaged at school, leading the implementation of Berry Street Education Model curriculum and classroom strategies. You will use College, class, and student data to drive individualised programs delivered at the student's point of need, monitor and support individual students at need, and coordinate comprehensive transition information. You will also create and maintain positive and supportive links with the students' families, lead Student Support Group meetings, and work with external agencies and stakeholders to increase opportunities for success and support for Senior School students.

Leading teachers will be highly skilled classroom practitioners and undertake leadership and management roles commensurate with their salary range. The role of leading teachers is to improve the skill, knowledge and performance of the teaching workforce in a school or group of schools and to improve the curriculum program of a school.

Typically, leading teachers are responsible for coordinating a number of staff to achieve improvements in teaching and learning which may involve the coordination and professional support of colleagues through modelling, collaborating and coaching and using processes that develop knowledge, practice and professional engagement in others.

Leading teachers are expected to lead and manage a significant area or function within the school with a high degree of independence to ensure the effective development, provision and evaluation of the school's education program.

Leading teachers will be expected to make a significant contribution to policy development relating to teaching and learning in the school. A leading teacher has a direct impact and influence on the achievement of the school goals.

Leading teachers are usually responsible for the implementation of one or more priorities contained in the school strategic plan.
