The Everyday Banking team is responsible for managing savings and transaction accounts, term deposits, debit cards, and foreign exchange. Everyday Banking also provides leading and innovative solutions for retail customers including Bill Sense and Smart Savings.

The Everyday Banking Line 1 risk team works closely with stakeholders across the group. We ensure operational risks to the Everyday Banking business are defined, understood and managed appropriately.

**Your Impact**:
This role fundamentally supports the Everyday Banking team in achieving their vision by identifying and reducing risks in the business.

This position supports the Everyday Banking team in all risk, control and compliance aspects of Line 1 risk. Key elements of the role include:

- Risks - Ensure that key risks are identified, understood, documented and mitigated.
- Controls - Ensure that areas requiring control uplift are identified and remediated.
- Compliance - Understand compliance requirements of the business, assess status of compliance and ensure gaps are remediated.
- Reporting - Effective and insightful reporting covering all aspects of risks, controls and compliance.

Working as part of the Line 1 risk team to support the business with a comprehensive and integrated risk service. Providing risk management advice and undertaking risk management activities, including:

- Risk management - risk identification, assessment and documentation.
- Control Assurance Program - working with the business to develop and monitor controls.
- Working with business and compliance stakeholders to ensure compliance with Group Policies, risk standards and regulatory obligations.
- Execution of process deep-dive activities to understand and document key process steps, identify key risks and controls and importantly, to identify and remediate control gaps.
- Managing Everyday Banking risks in line with the Operational Risk Management Framework.
- Embedding risk and control culture across our business stakeholders.
- Providing general risk support to the business and Line 1 risk team.
- Educating the Everyday Banking teams on the importance of an adequate control environment.

**We're interested in hearing from people who have**:

- Demonstrated experience in operational risk, compliance and or audit.
- Strong knowledge of risks, controls and compliance in a banking environment.
- Demonstrated ability to identify, analyse and reduce risks.
- Experience in managing varying levels of stakeholders and influencing outcomes.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with attention to detail and focus on accuracy.
- Experience using a risk management system and interpreting risk data and metrics.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and across business units.
