**About the role**

As Collection Manager you will professionally manage and care for the City of Ipswich Collection. Together with the Director and other Gallery staff, the Collections Manager will plan, develop, design and implement Collection displays within the Gallery’s exhibition program, and for wider Council.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

- Ensure the effective management of the Collection, through development, implementation, monitoring and review of Collection management policies, systems and procedures, and daily management of activities, operations and resources relating to the Collection and Collection Store.
- Manage, and contribute to the on-going development of the Collection records and ensure the accuracy of object accession information to the computer database through best practice registration practices.
- Provide curatorial and collection design leadership in collaboration with the Director. Plan, develop, design and implement collections and displays, in liaison with consultant researchers, curators, artists and other professional art workers, and undertake artwork loan negotiations and liaison with other institutions, professional bodies, private lenders and staff. In liaison with the Director, manage the installation and demounting of collection artworks.
- Ensure effective management and professional development of the Collection Management team.
- Undertake research and document information for catalogues, acquisition proposals, reports, cultural gifts and other requests for information.
- Assist the Director in the implementation of the strategic plan through engagement with key stakeholders and the community.

As the Ipswich Art Gallery operations 7 days a week, this role may require weekend and holiday work.

**About you**

To be successful in this role you will have:

- An ability to work in a team and willingness to support your colleagues as required
- A recognised tertiary qualification in Art History, Visual Arts and/or Art Museum Studies and relevant work experience, or equivalent combination
- Current Queensland Drivers Licence
- Working from heights licence or ability to acquired one
- Working with Children Check - Issue of Blue Card and Positive Notice Letter (issued by the Queensland Government) or Exemption Card

A medical will be required for this role due to the physical requirements of the role.

This is a permanent role, Level 6 with a salary commencing at $97,134 plus superannuation of up to 12.25%.
