Apprentice Butcher

We currently have a position for an **apprentice butcher **to join our team.

We are an established family-run retail butcher shop specialising in providing a traditional butchery experience to our local customers. The current owners have been operating the business for over eight years and the current team comprises 3 butchers and several shop staff.

**Duties will involve**:

- General butchery, including learning to:

- process bodies of beef, lamb, pork & chicken
- cut, trim and shape standard cuts of meat to size
- operate machinery such as mincers, mixers, sausage fillers.
- make products, such as sausages, marinated, value-add and ready-to-cook
- Pack, store and present products for display at a high standard for sale
- Cleaning and upkeep of the shopfront and back.
- Attend to and serve customers to provide advice and process sales.

**The applicant will be**:

- A 2nd, 3rd, 4th year or recommencing apprentice with a passion for the trade.
- Well-presented and a confident communicator
- Motivated to take direction, learn and problem solve.
- Reliable and trustworthy
- Diligent and safety conscious

To be eligible for an apprenticeship or traineeship you must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or have full working rights.
