Salary Range: $122,949 - $135,013 + Attractive Superannuation
The Communications Branch provides strategic communication advice and support to the Department, the Repatriation Commission, and the Minister for Veterans’ Affairs and Defence Personnel.
Within the Communications Branch, the Digital Services and Design Section delivers a range of digital products for the Department including website maintenance and development, social media management, graphic design services, and digital video production.
The section oversees a range of websites including (but not limited to) the main DVA website, ATDP website, Open Arms, Defence Service Homes Insurance, and the Recognition website. Management of a number of DVA’s official social media channels forms part of the section’s core function as well. The team also looks after DVA’s SharePoint environments such as the intranet and collaboration tools.
The role is primarily responsible for all aspects of the management of the IT service arrangements including agreements, account management, issue resolution, and performance assurance.
The Assistant Director - Web Services ATDP Support ensures quality operations of the IT services and applies continuous service improvement. The role works closely with other DVA business areas to share information, insights, and to ensure approaches are connected and consistent with the management of the ATDP.
**Duties**
- Perform the technical lead for the IT systems and services supporting the Advocacy Training and Development Program (ATDP), including developing and maintaining relationships with relevant business areas.
- As part of the leadership team, provide support in key strategic areas, business planning and reporting. Provide support to the Director including the drafting of business cases, action briefs, responses to national office and ministerial requests.
- Work closely with the relevant ATDP team/s to ensure operational requirements are aligned and nationally consistent with relevant DVA policies and procedures, including embedding quality improvement principles in practice to align processes and operational functions with national policies and/or standard operating procedures.
- Develop and maintain high value relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration to support high quality & efficient delivery of services.
**Eligibility**
- Under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the Australian Public Service (APS).
- All applicants external to DVA offered employment will be required to successfully undergo a pre-engagement screening check, even if they have a security clearance. The screening check is conducted in accordance with the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework requirements.
**Notes**
Where a non-ongoing position is offered, the role will be filled for an initial specified term of up to 23 months.
A merit pool of suitable applicants may be created which may be used to fill future ongoing and non-ongoing vacancies should they become available over the next 18 months.
