**About the role**

Mater Engineering and Maintenance Department is currently seeking a **Biomedical Electronic Technician **for a permanent full-time opportunity based at our South Brisbane campus.

As a **Biomedical Electronic Technician,** you will be required to perform complex and diverse technical tasks and engage in independent decision making and judgement on a day-to-day basis with mínimal supervision in the provision of quality technical services.

**Salary range: $34.33 - $50.32 (HP3) per hour plus superannuation and salary packaging**

**What you’ll be doing**

In this role you will perform technical tasks on a day-to-day basis with mínimal supervision as it relates to service support of general biomedical equipment.

Key responsibilities will include (but not limited to):

- Perform a diverse range of technical tasks, from routine to complex and integrate with other disciplines to a consistent high technical standard
- Independently solve complex technical problems regarding biomedical equipment with mínimal supervision such as: ventilators, patient monitors, defibrillators, infusion pumps etc.
- Actively participate in a multidisciplinary team consisting of one or more technical domains by providing support to the team, advice to peers, advice and/or reporting services to managers.
- Take responsibility for work at all levels within the biomedical engineering department without regular supervision.
- Contributes to development of policies, procedures and technical practice and participate in quality and service improvement activities to continually improve patient care
- Attend training for continuing professional and technical development
- Participate in 24-hour, 7 day on-call roster

**About you**

To be successful in this role you will possess:

- The successful applicant must hold at least an Associate Diploma (if graduating prior to the year 2000), a Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Electronics or Biomedical Engineering.
- Restricted Electrical Work Licence (competencies 1,3 and 5) as issued by Electrical Workers and Contractors Board (Qld)
- Demonstrated high level of competence in diagnosis of faults and repairs, problem solving and technical skill with respect to the service of biomedical equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to provide technical advice relating to biomedical engineering to a variety of clients regarding technical standards and service delivery.
- Experience in installing, configuring and supporting Networked Medical Equipment
