The Associate Director, Advancement Strategic Initiatives works collaboratively with Chancellery, Deans, Senior Academics, and Senior Advancement colleagues to identify and develop University strategic initiatives that will benefit from philanthropic support. This senior role requires excellent program management skills and the ability to analyse business needs, while managing a broad range of relationships.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Identifying academic priorities and strategic initiatives through the development and implementation of evaluation processes, in collaboration with academic and fundraising leads.
- Shaping complex ideas and opportunities into concise business cases, informing compelling philanthropic opportunities through partnership with Advancement and academic colleagues.
- Developing project plans, business cases, budgets, and supporting tools and collateral in partnership with academic and fundraising leads, engaging with relevant internal and external partners.
- Managing projects approved for implementation, oversee the delivery of cases for support and proposals
- Providing guidance to senior University staff, collaborating with Development staff and deputising for the Director when required, while fostering a strong, supportive, safe, and enjoyable office culture.

**Who we are looking for**
You have extensive experience advising at a senior level with the relationship management and interpersonal skills to negotiate, influence and communicate successfully with internal and external partners in a complex environment. You are highly motivated and able to recommend, develop and implement innovative solutions. You possess expert organisational, analytical and critical thinking skills. You have a strategic mindset supported by leadership skills and an understanding of how and why a strategic approach supports philanthropic fundraising activities.

We welcome applicants from a variety of backgrounds with a focus on business/program development, revenue generation, consultancy, or development of government or research programs.

You will also have:

- An undergraduate qualification in a relevant discipline (with extensive relevant experience); or an equivalent combination of relevant extensive experience and education/training.
- Excellent project/program management skills, including the ability to set and meet deadlines, work efficiently on multiple projects and adapt to changing circumstances while delivering on project goals and objectives within budget and time constraints.
- Demonstrated expertise in developing business cases, budgets, reports, proposals and project plans.
