**What you'll be doing**

You will complete a Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade (Fitting/Machining) qualification over 48 months through a combination of formal training with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and practical on-the-job experience with Zeal Futures and Host Employer, Surteco.

**Throughout your formal training and practical experience in the workplace, you will have the opportunity to**:

- Assist in the maintenance, repair, and installation of mechanical systems and machinery.
- Learn to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Participate in scheduled maintenance and troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
- Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and support the implementation of new technologies and processes.
- Utilising a range of cutting-edge tools, including milling machines, lathes, grinders, wire cutters, power tools, and welding equipment

**What you'll bring to the table**

To be successful in this role, you'll need to meet the following selection criteria:

- You must have manual skills, analytical skills, and a good level of math and geometry proficiency.
- You should be resilient, self-motivated, and not afraid to get your hands dirty.
- You must possess a P1 or above driver's license or be close to obtaining one.
