What you'll be doing


You will complete a Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade (Fitting/Machining) qualification over 48 months through a combination of formal training with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and practical on-the-job experience with Zeal Futures and Host Employer, Surteco.


Throughout your formal training and practical experience in the workplace, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Manufacturing parts
  • Maintaining equipment
  • Utilising a range of cuttingedge tools, including milling machines, lathes, grinders, wire cutters, power tools, and welding equipment

What you'll bring to the table
To be successful in this role, you'll need to meet the following selection criteria:

  • Safety should be your top priority and you should be eager to learn and have a strong work ethic. You should also possess adaptability, attention to detail, problem-solving skills (especially mechanical aptitude), and be a good communicator with a positive attitude.
  • You must have manual skills, analytical skills, and a good level of math and geometry proficiency.
  • You should be resilient, selfmotivated, and not afraid to get your hands dirty.
  • You must possess a P1 or above driver's license or be close to obtaining one.
