**About Us**:
Zillmere State School provides educational opportunities for primary age students from Prep to year 6. The school currently has a total enrolment of 105 students and is located in Northern Suburbs of Brisbane. The school considers itself a 'small country school in the heart of the city'. It has a diverse student population with the highest percentage of First Nations enrolment in North Brisbane. The school is currently building a Nutrition and Wellbeing Centre as it pivots towards a' Paddock to plate' philosophy' with its planned First Nations bush tucker and medicinal Wellbeing Garden. It is currently focusing on the pedagogy of Explicit Instruction, learning walls and using marker students to track academic success in English.
**About the Role**:
Responsibilities include, but not limited to;
- Assist the Principal to lead the school community to develop, articulate and commit to a shared educational vision focussed on providing quality learning outcomes for all students.
- Deputise for the Principal when required.
- Uphold the deputy principalship as a values based, ethical and moral activity.
- Embed socially just practices in daily school life.
- Set high standards for student and staff performance.
- Actively participate in lifelong learning and ongoing professional development.
- Form partnerships with parents, other government agencies, community groups, industry and business.
- Be futures oriented and strategic.
- Understand the legislation and policies that impact on schooling.
- Manage resources to achieve goals.
