**About the Emergency Department**

The Emergency Department services approximately 85,000 patients per year, about 20% of whom are paediatric patients. The admission rate is of the order of 30%. The Emergency Department aims to assess, manage and admit patients from a broad range of specialities, within the targets set by the by the Department of Human Services (DoH). This service will be delivered in a timely, compassionate and appropriate manner, enhanced through teaching, research and the development of new technologies and processes. The Emergency Department is a large, state of the art facility which assists our multidisciplinary team in its quality service delivery.

**About the role**

The ED Clerical Manager is responsible for the support, supervision and organisation of clerical staff of the Emergency Department, which includes Emergency Department and Short Stay Unit.

This includes day-to-day service delivery, people management, financial accountability (i.e. budget management and billing functions), quality assurance and improvement requirements, and data reporting.

The ED Clerical Manager will be a highly driven and innovative individual with a keen eye for process improvement opportunities. A team player who can motivate and advocate for inspired changes to traditional ways of doing. Supremely organised, with an eye for detail and capable of managing a range of priorities, people and timelines - this position is looking for someone who is up for a challenge and likes to be involved in the inner workings of a complex organisation.

To be successful in this role you'll bring with you:

- Clerical experience in a medium to large complex health service.
- Previous management experience (minimum of 3 years)
- Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver exceptional customer services
- Knowledge of legal requirements pertaining to patient records management
