You will be accountable to provide recruitment and mentoring services for the Jobs Victoria Engineering Project. The role is to attract jobseekers to the program, facilitating the matching of jobseekers with employers, as well as the onboarding process and provide mentoring and support throughout the first 6 months of the employment period for the jobseeker; under the guidelines of the Jobs Victoria Engineering Project outcomes.

The role is responsible for working professionally at all levels and relevant stakeholders including jobseekers, employers, and industry bodies to deliver an integrated recruitment and mentoring service.

The Recruiter / Mentor will:

- Market and promote the program and recruit jobseekers for employers aligned to the program
- Develop professional relationships, networks, and other support systems necessary to facilitate employment outcomes
- Work closely the with Industry Engagement Lead to connect with employers in the fabrication and mechanical engineering industries by matching jobseekers to employers
- Work with jobseekers throughout the length of their involvement with the project, including the recruitment process, onboarding and job matching, training and employment, as well as post-placement mentoring for the first 6 months of the jobseekers’ employment

The position is not confined to one campus and is required to travel throughout the southeast of Melbourne as needed and is to provide support services as required by the operations of the business.

Your key accountabilities will be to:

- Work with Jobs Victoria, Chisholm Industry partners, Workforce Australia representatives and Chisholm Skills and Jobs Centre to source jobseekers
- Support and coordinate job advertisements to attract jobseekers to the project
- Supervise and organise any relevant checks as required by the project and employers
- Work with placed jobseekers for first 6 months of employment to ensure successful employment outcomes
- Provide ongoing support for jobseekers during employment and focus on helping to remove barriers to continued employment
- Work with jobseekers during soft skills training period to improve their employability and life skills

**ABOUT YOU**
- A relevant Degree qualification or a combination of lower-level qualifications and extensive experience

Crucial to your success will be your:

- Highly developed communication skills and ability to liaise effectively with jobseekers and staff at all levels and from a range of backgrounds
- Experience in relationship building: including identification, evaluation and implementation of communication and engagement strategies for different groups of people that reflect their unique situation
- Demonstrated experience in the planning and provision of employment services, activities and programs
- Prior experience within a recruitment role
- Prior experience within a manufacturing organisation
- Prior experience within a mentoring role
