- Planning and Designing of Telecom devices, networks such as Copper, Fiber and HFC, and systems
- Design the network in compliance with the local councils laws, regulations, policies and procedures in the provision of telecommunications systems
- Interpreting the complex telecom architectures and business rules specific to the service provider
- Selecting and developing new telecommunications sites by locating sites, filing documents, drawing up documents for approval, drafting construction drawings and following through to approval
- Necessary documentation for Land access and Council approvals, Dial-Before-Your-Dig, drafting construction drawings and Single Line Diagrams.
- Performance evaluation of the existing network especially with the copper and fiber losses so that the required bandwidth is designed.
- Technical support and on the job training to be imparted to the junior designers
- Ensure the quality of the designs being produced by the mapped junior designers
- Drive the successful delivery designs required to meet the leading indicators and business objectives;
- Recommendations for planning and design process automations;
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
**Required skills/experience**:
- 2 to 4 years of experience managing processes, frameworks, solutions and associated technologies
- More than 2 years of experience in planning and designing Outside and Inside Plant Networks
- Strong understanding of Access Network, design and construction standards, including FTTP, FTTN, HFC, Active devices and Passive devices
- Strong understanding of aerial, underground and intra-building designs standards;
- Strong knowledge of GIS related platforms, systems and tools such as MapInfo and AutoCAD Map
- Experience in supporting teams as an SME to improve the team quality and throughput
- Experience in ensuring plans and detailed designs that are created meet defined quality standards
