Membership/ Refunds Clerk

**Job Duties/Essential Functions**
- Research returned merchandise for item number, past and current price, department number, and warranty information
- Write or key information in register system for disposition tags on non-saleable items, slip-prints in register, and attach to items
- Writ or key information for price adjustment slips, slip-prints in register, and retains the information
- Attaches return receipts to merchandise
- Issues refunds by cash or credit card
- Maintains large register fund in organised manner
- Order and verify cash fund increases
- Correct ringing errors for members, with approval of supervisor
- Collect or refunds monetary difference
- Follow proper departmental procedures for documentation and performance of duties, such as obtaining supervisor signatures when necessary and signing all register receipts
- Obtain Majors Sales Assistant approval
- Test returned diamonds, gets Majors Sales Assistant approval on returns from Majors area
- Call for immediate lock-up of security items
- Assist at membership counter with membership sign-ups, renewals, replacement cards and temporary cards
- Count register at sign on and shift end to maintain accurate register funds
- Ensure the register’s cleanliness
- Order change, cash increases/loans when needed and make witnessed drops/deposits of excess funds to the vault
- Receive accurate payment for merchandise, make change, process credit and debit charges according to proper departmental procedures for paperwork and the performance of duties
- Follow proper Membership and general safety and security procedures and standards
- Assist in other departments of the warehouse as necessary
- Provide prompt and courteous service to members, employees, and suppliers.

Ability to operate vehicles, equipment or machinery_**
- Computer, camera, printer, phone, card printer, copier, credit/debit terminal, hand-held scanner, carts, flatbeds, cash register, cash machine.
- Education/Training: High School Certificate or higher
- Experience/Skills: Costco Membership, customer service, sales or comparable experience and basic maths skills.
