Employment Opportunity: Accomodation Coordinator

**Position Overview**:
Accommodation Coordinator will work with Service Manager to provide a range of services and support in accordance with the needs and goals of clients at Aaquila Care’s residential facilities. Accomodation coordinator need to be flexible, willing to learn and take on new tasks, resilient, problem solve and hold good communication skills. In this role you also need to work in a team and independently and be able to use your discretion.

**Key Responsibilities**:
Ensure services and support are provided in a way that is consistent with but not limited to the principles and objectives of the Human Right Act 1986, Disability Services Act 1986, Disability Services and Registered Nursing Standards, Health Practitioner Act 2009.

Comply with Scope of Practice, Policies and Procedures, Quality Work Practice, all relevant Legislative, Regulatory, and Legal Requirements including the Human Rights Act 1986 and uphold the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

Work with and report to Service Manager.

Be flexible to assist in and proactively participant to fill rostering gap needs as requested.

Be flexible, willing to learn and take on new tasks, resilient and problem solve.

Work in a team and independently and be able to use your discretion.

Committed to recognising the person before the disability or diagnoses.

Committed to social and society awareness of disability.

Ensuring human rights, dignity, privacy, and security are maintained.

Assist in the development, implementation, and review of individual programs.

Accurately record, document and report

Able to cope with the physical demands of the position.

Supporting and liaising with the Service manager and Rostering to make sure rostering of all accommodation sites are completed monthly.

Ensure shift cover is managed if changes are required at short notice, includes covering shifts if staff are unavailable to do so.

Oversee accommodation bookings of the houses meets the needs of families.

Be contactable and available for after-hours emergencies.

Ensure all Aaquila care facilities are efficiently managed to ensure smoothly day-to-day running.

Manage maintenance and House building works, ensuring effective communication with the operations team and all staff.

Oversee ordering of stock to maintain appropriate levels of House supplies across all sites.

Supervise the support workers working within the house(s) in their day-to-day tasks.

Ensure all booking and database systems are accurate and kept up to date.

Monthly KPI reporting and ensure occupancy targets are met each month.

Assist in coordinating in-house special day events to promote social well-being.

Answer questions from families regarding the facilities and ensure families are aware of the House facilities, programs and support services offered.

Engage positively with staff and volunteers and seeking assistance and support when required

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Hold an understanding of a National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
- Demonstrated experience working directly with people that have challenging behaviours and/or restrictive practices.
- Ability to perform duties in a ‘standalone’ position for all shifts.
- Demonstrated understanding of the support needs requirements of people with different types of disabilities and communication needs.
- Effectively provide a clear explanation and plan of the support and guidance needed to achieve a person’s NDIS and Personal goals.
- Well-developed time management and personal organisational skills.
- Successfully able to work under pressure and respond to completing demands.
- Contribute positively within a team environment.
- Demonstrate a friendly, positive attitude, with a willingness to learn.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to always maintain confidentially on information.
- Demonstrate genuine respect for all people regardless of their situation.
- Ability to identify and resolve conflict and respond effectively.
- Demonstrate negotiations skills and quality customer service delivery.
- Stay person focused and commitment to the achievement of the organisation business objectives.
- Effective written and verbal communication, internal and external to the organisation
- Making timely decisions and recommendations based on the organisations policies and procedures and legislative requirements.
