Head of Cyber Security

We are looking for an experienced Cyber Security leader to take on the newly established Head of Cyber Security position in a full time, ongoing capacity.

**About the Role**
In this role, you will lead the organisation’s planning, establishment, and continual improvement of the cybersecurity program and project initiatives to safeguard the information systems and assets from internal and external security risks.

You will work closely with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to promote and advance cyber security across the organisation and its partners to achieve an enduring cultural change and robust cybersecurity capability.

Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, this role is the central point for cyber systems security expertise and collaborates with stakeholders to negotiate and advise on timeframes, priorities, security plans, budgets and change impacts.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

- Lead the development and implementation of strategic and operational cyber security initiatives to identify and protect information assets and critical infrastructure
- Develop and maintain a security architecture and design process that enables the enterprise to develop and implement cyber security solutions and capabilities
- Identify, evaluate and monitor security risks and report status to the relevant Directors and Executives
- Plan and execute ongoing cyber security awareness and education campaigns to promote and foster culture change and effective cyber security practices
- Work closely with internal and external auditors to help implement controls and mitigate risk whilst improving the maturity of cyber security baselines.
- Create, review and update cyber security checklists, playbooks, work instructions, guidelines, policies and procedures
- Plan, implement and report on security measures on all information systems and networks including the funding and resourcing for new and ongoing security initiatives
- Coordinate and manage cyber security incidents. Ensure continuous improvement opportunities are identified and implemented.
- Review investigations after breaches or incidents and make recommendations for avoiding similar vulnerabilities or repeated incidents.

**About You**
- Demonstrated ICT or Cyber Security leadership and management experience (5+ years)
- Proven technical expertise in enterprise and information systems security, security technologies, and engineering across a range of platforms and systems.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications or industry certifications such as CISSP, SABSA, CCSP, CISM, CISA, CRISC or equivalent.
- Knowledge and working experience with IT and Security Frameworks such as IS0 27001, NIST, ASD Essential 8, COBIT 2019, ITIL 4, and the Queensland Government Information security policy (IS18:2018).
- Proven strong working knowledge and understanding of Cyber Security program implementation and management, risk assessment, internal controls and compliance.
- Valid Driver’s licence
- Ability to successfully pass a National Criminal History Check.
- Full working rights for Australia - employer visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
