**About the role**:
This is an exciting opportunity to work with newly arrived migrants and refugees in supporting them achieve their goals to employment pathways or further training. Your knowledge of the Education systems in Australia will assist as much as your understanding of the settlement needs of our clients and the agencies that can support them. Join us to help our students achieve their goals.

**Duties**:

- As part of the Initial Interview team, conduct interviews at entry with eligible AMEP Clients that will assist students in completing their course successfully as well as developing Individual Pathways Plans for each student. Inform AMEP clients about their rights and responsibilities within the guidelines of the AMEP Service Delivery Agreement.
- Deliver a consistently exceptional guidance on the most appropriate learning pathway relevant to the student goa Provide advice on employment trends, skills shortages and appropriate vocational training to gain entry. Use relevant industry websites: Victorian skills Gateway, Job Outlook, Myfuture
- Make appropriate post - AMEP referrals at Exit Interviews such as to other training programs, community placements or employment services

**Skills and experience required**:

- Qualifications
- An approved tertiary qualification in career development, community services, counselling, education or a related field or a lesser forma qualification with significant filed experience.
- A thorough knowledge of the employment and education services available in northern Melbourne including local employers, the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector, Skills for Education and Employment Program (SEE) providers and Learn Locals.
- Demonstrated experience and specialist knowledge in providing pathway planning advice to newly arrived migrants and Humanitarian entrants from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds in a culturally sensitive manner.
- Exceptional networking, negotiation and interpersonal skills together with demonstrated experience in liaising with community, government and industry at all levels.
