RTS has an exciting opportunity for a Methods Engineering Manager to join the Queensland Rail Alliance (joint venture with Queensland Rail).

**About the role**

You will be responsible for realising the QTMP manufacturing strategy, including implementing the industrialisation plan and optimising the production flow line, build process, and facility capacity to achieve series production.

You will support the design producibility review ensures the design output meets the Design-for-Manufacturing-and-Assembly (DfMA) objectives on safety, quality and productivity. You will optimise the build process, including the production verification process on the shop floor.

Additionally, you will be responsible for managing the production tooling and equipment and specifying the material logistic requirements to achieve a lean logistic solution, including material handling, stillages, packaging and material flow.

The Methods Engineering Manager ensures that Continuous Improvement is an inherent part of the production process implementation.

The Methods Engineering Manager shall be responsible for the Process and Operational safety requirements with the support of the Zero Harm team.

You will provide coaching to the next generation of Methods Engineers to achieve the required level of skills and competency in Rollingstock Manufacturing according to industry best practices.

This is a full-time permanent position at the new QTMP manufacturing facility located in Torbanlea, Queensland. You will work from our Milton Office in Brisbane during the project's initial phase.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Ensure implementation of the Lean 3P (Production Preparation Process) or similar to comprehensively design the manufacturing operational requirements.
- Ensure the Methods build time (standard time) is defined, monitored and reviewed for optimisation for each task, takt, car, and multiple units.
- Ensure achievement of the standard time and takt time with consistent quality and productivity using the DfMA process.
- Ensure the harmonisation of the manufacturing structure (mBOM), the build process, the material delivery strategies, and tools and equipment with the production reality leading to series production readiness.
- Ensure the production line balance with resources and skills requirements using the Value Stream Analysis, Yamazumi chart or similar tools.
- Define the right skilling of the workforce with Production and People and Culture functions.
- Ensure build process instruction meets Production needs in liaison with Production Engineering and the Zero Harm team.
- Liaise with other functions to lead a comprehensive validation of series production readiness

**Qualifications**:

- Degree qualifications - Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering.
- Be registered or working towards becoming a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ).

**Desired Experience**:

- 6-10 years experience in Rollingstock Manufacturing as Methods or Production Engineering.
- Profound understanding of Rollingstock Methods Engineering methodology.
- Experience in the manufacturing of rollingstock carbody and bogie, including final assembly.
- Experience in Rollingstock Lean Manufacturing.
- Experience in SAP or similar ERP systems.
- Has good knowledge in related disciplines within the project organisation.
