**About our opportunity**

Based at our Caboolture Waste Management Facility, as the Facilities Officer - Waste you'll be providing **technical advice and support** and contributing to the effective and efficient operations of the waste facility, and waste management programs and services as well as:

- being a key point of contact for team members in the day to day operations and service delivery of a large scale, complex waste management facility
- implementing and coordinating technical improvement projects related to waste disposal and resource recovery
- developing and reviewing the department’s operational procedures, manuals, and work instructions
- ensuring site compliance with relevant legislation, approved standards, policies and procedures
- preparing reports, correspondence and associated admin
- undertaking environmental health and safety and contractor compliance audits, and awareness training programs.

This position requires the successful applicant to be **available to work any 5 out of 7 days** as part of the ordinary hours. The repeating roster covers a 9 day fortnight, included a mix of week and weekend days, and includes 2 consecutive non-work days each week.

**About you**

Bring your well developed **experience in waste management facilities and transfer station operations** to this role, as well as:

- great online research skills and be comfortable analysing information and incident investigations
- a track record of great project management and time management skills.
- skills in building high quality relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and work constructively and efficiently as part of a broader Waste Services team
- C class driver's license (required)
- Construction Induction Card (or be willing to obtain at own expense prior to commencement)
- Tertiary qualification in waste management, environmental health/science, occupational health and safety or other relevant field, _or_ have relevant experience in lieu of the qualification.
