**The Position**

**St John of God Richmond Hospital **is a private mental health hospital northwest of Sydney providing comprehensive and holistic mental health care services in a tranquil setting.
- A vacancy exists for a highly motivated social worker with appropriate knowledge and skills to join our friendly Allied Health Department as an integral member of the multidisciplinary team in the role of
- **Social Worker (Grade 2),** either on a permanent full time or part time job-share basis. Our progressive and innovative team offers development opportunities for our staff and a caring environment for the delivery of high quality patient centred care.

**The Role will include**:

- Work effectively as a member of the multidisciplinary team at St John of God Hospital
- Provide short term social work counselling and case work intervention to patients experiencing a range of mental health conditions with multiple psychosocial complexities requiring inpatient care.
- Opportunity to provide assessment and group psychological therapy with clients across both inpatient and outpatient settings promoting recovery and trauma informed care
- Work in close partnership with local non-government organisations

- Tertiary qualification in Social Work and eligible for membership with the Australian Association of Social Work.
- Demonstrated clinical experience in mental health within a healthcare setting.
- Demonstrated high level written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Demonstrable ability to undertake professional supervision and/or mentor junior staff and to promote professional competence and growth in staff.
- Demonstrated knowledge and skills in the provision of evidence-based social work interventions including assessment, case management and counselling/therapeutic interventions.
